Eilish spoke out against the recently passed Texas law that makes abortion "functionally illegal," according to The New York Times, in front of large projections that read "Bans Off Our Bodies."
"When they made that shit a law, I almost didn't want to do this show because I wanted to punish this fucking place for allowing that to happen here," Eilish said during her set, as captured by fan videos, "but then I remembered that it's you guys who are the fucking victims, and you deserve everything in the world."
"We need to tell them to shut the fuck up!" she continued, instructing the audience to raise their middle fingers in unison with her. "My fucking body, my fucking choice!"
The new Texas law prohibits abortions after six weeks, well before most women are even aware they are pregnant. Since it went into effect in September, after the Supreme Court declined to overturn it, health-care advocates have expressed concern that it could be a stepping stone to further undermining or even overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that established constitutional protection for abortion.
Eilish has previously supported Planned Parenthood and spoken out about body image issues, particularly the sexualization of young women and the double standards they face.
